
Late 1920s
Served as a summer camp for children who were at risk for
tuberculosis. Dr. LeRoy F. Hollis spearheaded this project.
It operated until 1941.
1945
A group of concerned citizens, led by Oswego County Children’s
Court Judge Eugene F. Sullivan, determined that the facility
should give young people of Oswego County a free summer
camping experience in cases where they would not otherwise
have such an opportunity.
1946
Camp Hollis opened as Oswego County’s Children’s Camp.
1999
The Friends of Camp Hollis, a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3
organization was formed.
